There are many conditions that can be treated with acupuncture, these are just a few common complaints:

Dry mouth is a common side effect of medication and/or radiation therapy for head and neck cancer. There have been several studies in dental and oncology medical journals that have shown acupuncture to be effective in increasing saliva production. Mouthwash and gum can provide temporary relief and is often prescribed. Acupuncture in addition to or instead of these treatments can be helpful for longer term relief.

It is a condition where people can feel an inner sense of dread combining fear, worry, and uneasiness. It can include the physical symptoms of difficult concentration, tiredness, palpitations, muscle tension and restlessness. Modern research has demonstrated that acupuncture has a positive effect on improving anxiety.  It can also help with depression, insomnia and irritability.

It’s not so easy getting pregnant, especially given our lifestyle and environment. In the U.S.10% of the population, between ages 15-44, have difficulty with fertility according to the CDC. This includes male and female, conceiving and carrying to term. In the last ten years, researchers and M.D.’s have studied how acupuncture can play a part in promoting fertility.

Studies have shown that acupuncture increases the production of endorphins. Endorphins play a role in regulating the menstrual cycle. Additional studies have shown that adding acupuncture can also be used before and after IVF treatment to increase pregnancy success.

Acupuncture and herbal medicine are also be used without IVF to promote your overall wellbeing, by promoting an increase the functioning and efficiency of the body.

Many studies have been completed about the efficacy of acupuncture in the treatment of headache and migraines. The greatest advantage of acupuncture over western medicine is that it does virtually no harm. Unlike synthetic drugs, acupuncture has virtually no side effects, and the procedures for treating headaches and migraines are much less invasive.

A landmark study has shown that acupuncture provides pain relief and improves function for people with osteoarthritis of the knee and serves as an effective complement to standard care. The study, the largest Phase III clinical trial of acupuncture for knee osteoarthritis, was funded by NCCAM and the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases, both components of the National Institutes of Health.
